11 week update on lumps and bumps!

Question
Had my F/L and N/L on 17 August. Between weeks 1 and 2, I developed several hemotomas on both cheeks. They ranged in size from a small pea to a lima bean. All but 1 is gone! The biggest one is still there, but it's shrunk to the size of a BB. There is still a little bluish tinted bruising on the right side (same side as largest bumps), but not really noticeable with a little makeup. I also had one of the muscle/cords on the side of my neck that was wayyyy swollen and tender. It has also returned to "almost" normal size and I can touch it without too much discomfort. There is still some swelling along my jawline, but it has gone down alot.

Answer
Sounds like you are healing nicely. Did the PS say why u got so many hemotomas?

Glad to hear I'm not the ONLY one with jawline swelling after eleven weeks. I have been worrying because there seems to more swelling on one side of the jaw than on the other, but I from what I've been told much of the swelling ends up down there on the jaw and that it eventually does leave. Any idea HOW long the swelling stays around the jawline? Probably several months is my guess!

Answer
I'm still dealing with that swelling at 4 1/2 months. It's either that or residual fat I go back at 6 months for an evaluation. If it's fat then the ps will do a tiny bit of lipo to get rid of it. I'm hoping it will disappear on its on though.Age: 59

Answer
JanM,
What kind of face lift did you have, if I may ask? If SMAS, do you know what kind (basic, extended, deep plane, composite, etc.,).
I am looking into getting a deep plane SMAS next spring. And if the healing takes 3 mos, well, I may as well dish my plans for a June workshop class.
Thanks for the update. Hope you are very happy with the results!Endo Brow Lift

Answer
I am two weeks post op and have ridges on my neck. I don't believe they are hematomas, but rope-like ridges. I am wearing my face and neck elastic wrap, but I think it might be contributing to this issue. Has anyone experienced something like this?

Answer
All these lumps bumps and ridges do finally go away, you are only 2 weeks and have a way to go yet, I think perhaps you should stop wearing the strap and see how it goes. I wasn't given one some doctors recommend them and some doctors don't.Chez x

Answer
Chez is right, it may be time to ditch the chinstrap. Check with your ps first though.
We have all had the lumps bumps and ridges, they go in time, you are still early days.

Answer
I only had my chin strap for a week as we found by process of elimination that I was severly allergic to it. Assoon as I stopped wearing it, my face selling reduced greatly.
My lumps and bumps are dissapearing although my jaw is slightly swollen after 7 weeks.
