Question
First I'd really like to thank those who have been active on this board. I've been considering trying a this pic to let him know what I meant by "frosting", and his reaction was "but you're always that color". He has a point really. Do people who are naturally absurdly fair get even whiter or would skin texture just change a bit if they frost?
Answer
Hello Ann-
There's a pretty wide variation in peoples responses to http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic260.htm
You might want to get a few consults, from dermatolists and www.obagi.com

The TCA /mmh/product/chemicalpeel/index.vm?procid=4" target=_blank>peels vary from person to person. You don't hafe to frost to get a good peel. Some will frost and some won't but it depends on your /mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin. If you have alot to peel then you will see more frost, especially if you are a sun person or smoker. You don't need to wash off TCA you just neutralize it with a generic lotion, it brings the ph back to normal. The more l/mmh/product/beauty/ayer/index.vm?procid=13&catid=642" target=_blank>ayers you do, the better peel you will get, but if 25% then start with one layer and wait 6 weeks for another peel. If 12% then do three layers and then neutralize. The day after the peel your skin should be very shiny and tight. The second day you should have some dark areas, that look like scabs and then they will peel. By the 4th or 5th day the peeling should be almost done (varies per patient). Then your skin should look beautiful and renewed. Very nice peels to do, maybe once or twice a year if 25% and multiple layers. Good luck with the peels!! Aleta

hi lekat, i noticed you said that after a tca /mmh/product/chemicalpeel/index.vm?procid=4" target=_blank>peel and during the peeling stage you must wear sunblock even if its just to the car, why is that? during my tca peel i was going out with a hat on just to hang the washing out and thought that was ok, did i do a stupid thing?
i would also like to know if there is a huge difference between the 25% tca and 30% tca, do i run a huge risk of scarring if i do a 30% tca peel?
i was fine with doing a 25% tca peel myself with no probs but i just want to be sure?
Answer
Hi Lola-
UV rays from the sun can penetrate through windows. To be on the safe side, it's best to put on sunscreen for any out doors activity.
That said, no need to fret for the few times you went on a car trip without it-
We do the best we can-
There is not a huge difference between 25 & 30%- just be careful around the eyes, the /mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin there is very thin.
Trueradiance has a good point- instead of going up the TCA ladder to unsafe percentages, doing a /mmh/product/chemicalpeel/home_peels/jessners/index.vm?procid=4&catid=1045&subcatid=1048" target=_blank>jessner's- or even a glycolic just before the 25% will provide a safer way to boost the effect.
