Dermaplaning at home (face shaving)
Here's an interesting piece regarding face shaving, for exfoiliation and smooth http://intouchwithjeannine.blogspot.com/2006/01/woman-face-shavers-testimonial.html
Interesting that you brought up dermaplaning. My hair dresser recommended it a month ago and said she got great results. She gave me a flyer from a spa with a 20% coupon. The retail cost is $40.
I had my second Vitalize Peel Wednesday. I like the results, but was wondering if dermaplaning would provide an equal or even better result. Would it eliminate the need for a peel if I were to have it done, say, 2 times a month?
I'm also thinking about buying the MakeMeHeal Glycolic Peel. How many peels can you get from this kit? So there's NO downtime? Do you peel at all? Hmm...

The Dermaplaning (or 'shaving') is an adjunct to the peels- they complement each other. The peel solution seeps into and through the /mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin, and the lighter peels 'loosen' the outer dead l/mmh/product/beauty/ayer/index.vm?procid=13&catid=642" target=_blank>ayers.
The dermaplaning/shaving mechanically removes a very very thin layer of the top skin layer and also the facial hair, so you are really, really smooth.
Right now, I do both- shaving and light peels.
You get a lot of peels from the 1 oz. solution of the makemeyouthful peel-
I just put a little on my fingertips- you do NOT need to pile it on- just a light layer- it should last you months depending on how often you use it.
do you feel stubbly at all? I had dermaplaning done and I didnt with that and its basically the same thing.
...nope- no nubs. I was afraid of that, though.
I'm fascinated by this idea. I recently heard about the dermaplaning at an Aesthetitician's Office but it costs 100.00 and includes a masque & moisturizer. I used to teach English to Japanese students in /directory/search.php" target=_blank>Hawaii and the
women all shaved! What kind of shaving cream or what do you put on your face before and after shaving. I would think a glycolic would sting if used too soon afterwards.
I'm hooked .
I just shave when face is lathered from a cleansing gel. No shaving cream on my face.
I am very careful- I was in a rush once, and shaved off part of an eyebrow.
