Ok...so someone replied to one of my posts and said that she "opened" her incissions by doing too much. Um....YIKES! So once these scar up, they can randomly open? That does not sound good.
Also, I am 3 weeks post op and massaging merderma into my scars (per doctor's orders) There are still two small openingings and I am not rubbing that area, but the scar area won't open, will it?
Is this a stupid question?

i don't think there are any stupid questions. I'm now at two and half weeks post op and i still have some bleeding. Once little triangle shaped hole under my left breast which is slowly healing but still oozes a bit and just the tiniest little seepage under my right breast, so minor it is barely worth mentioning. I don't live at the other end of the island from where my surgery was so i don't have a place i can just jump in the car and go to for some reasuring answers so this message board is great for getting help from those who have been in the same situation who are willing to respond. Before i left the hospital i was given some phyiso excercises to do to help the elasticity of the forming scar tissue so it would stretch. I call it the 'yellow pages'. I stand side on to the wall and let my fingers do the walking up the wall as high as i can comfortably go, then face on, same thing. I do it ten times each side. Doing this is supposed to reduce the chances of the incisions opening because you are gently working them back into normal routine. Or so i was told. Hope that helps

i have a big triangle shaped opening under my right breast for 2 weeks now. Today i went to the hospital to see if it needed stitching. When i mean opening it's not a hole so they told me i don't need stitches. Just to put thick padded gauze on it so it doesn't stick to the bra and it will heal fine.

I think it may have been me warning you about overdoing it!!! That is how I opened my incisions. The biggest one opened at the bottom of my right nipple 2 weeks ago and it was about 2" - yikes - but it has healed and is about 1/4" now - I've really stopped freaking out about it because I know it will heal. I don't think the incisions can easily open after the scar is formed - mine opened under a steristrip and was never completely closed. Good luck and happy healing! Answer
RE: Post Op photos.
I am working on it. The ones I take myself do not do the girls justice. I am going to enlist my husbands help.
