2 days OTR - Afraid to shower! Hate to look!

Question
Hi all. I survived!!! The br was Monday morning. I came home yesterday. Today the dr. removed drains and anything covering the stitches. He said that I can shower now. I don't know why but I am afraid to take a shower. I am still oozing blood and stuff from the underneath incisions. It is so gross! I hate to look at it. Is it really okay to take a shower with the incisions still oozing?
On the bright side, I am feeling really good. The girls look pretty small though. What is this drop and fluff thing? Will the http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/viewAlbum.php?albumid=848

Hi everyone - sorry I haven't had time to write to thank you all and to give you an update. My parents are in town (from across the country) for the week to take care of me. I have been resting but when I am up I am usually playing cards with my parents or or going shopping with my mom. I did take a shower the day after all of your encouragement and it did feel great! I really love the way the girls look when I am brave enough to unzip the Carol Wior bra and look under the gauze. I should say I love the way the top and sides of them look. I still hate the way the underneath looks and I could do without the oozing!!! However, it is getting less and less every day. Today when my mom and I went shopping I actually tried on some little tops for the first time since I was 11!! It is amazing how much better everything fits! I bought a top that I never would have even taken off the rack a week ago. It is so cute on me!!! I can't wait to see it with a nice bra on instead of the sports bra (or maybe even braless!!!).
I don't know if I will ever be brave enough to post pictures. My husband took a few "before" shots just in case I feel like I can do it. I guess that I am just so /mmh/product/scar_reduction/index.vm?procid=42" target=_blank>scared that I am going to end up in the center of a magazine!!! Actually, I just hate the way they looked so much that I am not sure that I can expose them to the group. They look so cute now!!! Although my stomach could really use some work!!!
Again, thanks for the encouragement! Liz

The shower thing was interesting for me. I had the drains and was instructed not to shower until they were removed 3 days post op. But, I had already bought the shower chair and had a handheld shower head. So I bathed the most important part (at least to me) that may offend and I was OK. Now the hair was another issue since there was no way to wash it. Now that was yucky!
I am 2 weeks OTR and still really apprehensive about getting the girls wet. I now have had the stitches removed and replaced with the steri-strips. My PS assures me it is OK. Plus right now I have an opening in the cross section of the two incisions on the left breast where this gigantic hematoma is bleeding from! The though of accidentally getting some soap in there is frightening. So I still use the hand held only from behind. They only get a little wet. This week I am going to "man up" and let the water run on them from behind!
