1st check up after BR

Question
Well one week and half a day since the new girls arrived the Surgeon is very happy with the way the healing is going which is great.
Some of you may have read that I had problems with my right arm, it keeps going dead and tingling, well i've had an Xray today on my neck and get the results of those next week, he's not worried just ruling everything out, apparently it's possible to have an extra bone in your neck, which he thinks could be an answer to my problem and the way you have to lay during surgery I have to admit to having a very sore and bruised neck afterwards, so fingers crossed it's something simple like that!
can I just ask how long it was before you girls stopped being tired? I'm absolutely shattered and just want to sleep all the time!

Answer
My arms were going numb before and I still have a very weak feeling in them (more like restless feeling) than numb or pain. Still I am a little concerned about it. I know I had bad back problems and a pinched nerve, which I think is better since surgery, also the way you lay during surgery, and even now having to sleep on your back all the time may have something to do with it.
As far as tired, I have felt very good which may not be the best thing. Yesterday I quit taking the pain meds, washed my hair in the sink, tried on several outfits, went to the Dr. and had the drains removed, went to Target, out to lunch, did homework with my kids, took them to skate lessons (someone else drove) and came home and fixed dinner. I felt great all day and didn't rest at all until around 8:00 and then I crashed! Today I am really tired and have no energy to do anything. I really plan to take it easy today. I WAY over did it yesterday.[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Answer
That is the worst part of recovery I think is the lack of energy. You feel so wiped out, so when you have those days that you feel REALLY GOOD you just want to get as much done as possible 'cause you feel so great.....then you pay the next few days!! I think that at four weeks I was back to normal, and that means mentally as well. I went back to work at 2 1/2 weeks, three weeks was terrible for me with swelling, and finally at week four I felt pretty normal and my head finally feels out of the "fog". I haven't taken pain pills...except week 3 I took a few, since the day after surgery, so I think surgery just takes a toll on you all over. Rest as much as you can. try to listen to your body. GOOD LUCK!!

Answer
I just had my 4th appointment since surgery. Before surgery I had tingling and numbing of my right arm. I never associated it with the whole boob thing. Since surgery no arm tingling, no headaches, no neckaches, no backaches. My PS said that the arm thing happens because you carry all the weight on your shoulders. He was actually able to squeeze my shoulder and kind of mimic the feeling that I had before surgery.
I JUST LOVE THAT I HAD THIS DONE.

Answer
thanks for all the support girls, I have to say that the "restless" word discribes it for me too, I have to say also, that this was one of the reasons I went to the docs in the first place was tingling in my right arm, which she put down to the weight of my boobs! it's a lot to carry around especially as my frame really isn't up to 38F's!!
I think he'll get to the bottom of it sooner rather than later, he's said if the xray comes back clear he'll refer me on to neurology not a great thought, sort one thing out and fnd something else wrong! trying not to worry too much haven't got the energy to be honest

Answer
I know what ya mean about being tired. Seems like I do something and then I need to rest. I go back to work tomorrow but I am going to do 1/2 days for the rest of the week and then go back full days next week. I get frustrated because I want to be able to bounce right back and I have to take it slow. Plus, I need to remember that the greatest time to open up incisions is between 2-4 weeks so I don't want to overdo and open up a seam!! Just a few more weeks and we will be doing great!! Answer
i've got at least another week off so hopefully by then i'll be able to stay awake for a whole day that would actually be amazing right now haha!
I also find that being sat up all day makes the girls sore too, so have to keep laying down to take the weight off

Answer
I am 16 days out and went back to work for 4 hours today and tomorrow and then will be full days next week. I didn't think I was using my arms that much but am pretty swollen under my right arm where the drain was. I am still pretty tired so just trying to break myself in slowly. I am kind of worried about tolerating next weeks full days!! Just need to rest as much as possible! [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]
