I am almost three months post-op and my left breast - not the whole breast - just the lower left hand side is rock hard. It almost feels like a big mass. At first I thought it was probably scar tissue however the other side is soft (aside from the scar itself). I had some issues with my left side early on and did require draining for excess swelling. However I'm getting concerned especially b/c today it looked as though that side might actually be getting bigger than my other side.

Hi Tigger, it sounds like plain ole swelling. I'm over 2 mo's PO and still have hardening on the outside area of each breast. I wouldn't worry too much,but if it is new and or getting bigger I would call the PS.

It's not red just hard. I just scheduled an appoint for Friday. The nurse said it can be scar tissue or fluid. It just seems to be too large to be either but I"m not a /directory/index.php" target=_blank>doctor so we'll see.
