Question
Oh my gosh, I am so excited, I don't know where to begin. What a long journey to get to this place. Losing the 90 pounds and getting brachioplasty a year and a half ago, and then my original ba 7 mos. ago were amazing points on my journey. When the ba results began to be what I could not live with, I was so discouraged. What started out as an issue of assymetry quickly morphed into my certainty that I had ended up way too big and with excessive side boobage that was making me feel as large as I was at the beginning of this journey. After much agonizing, and balancing my ps's expertise with all that I have gratefully learned from all of you here at this site, we finally arrived at some decisions for my redo that the ps felt would meet my needs, which were to go smaller, get rid of the side boobage, and still have some nice upper fullness and cleavage. It was hard to decide on the details, because though I'm only 5'3" and wear size 6's, I have a wide bwd, and a major concern was ending up with a too narrow implant. Too Petite did end up describing my situation perfectly, when she wondered, in a post, if I might be the exception to the rule, and because I was wide with the excess side boobage, perhaps I could get by with a more narrow implant than usually would be recommended. I went from 475 saline round mods filled to 525 down to 300cc's high profile silicone. The results could not be more perfect, as I saw at today's unwrapping of the bandaging I've been living with since last Wed's redo surgery. The bandaging alone must have weighed at least 2 pounds! My new girls are way smaller, but nice and full, the excess side boobage is history, there really is upper pole fullness, and the implants were perfectly matched to my situation filling me out proportionately. And they're symmetrical. Ps says there is little swelling and that he doesn't expect them to go through much of a dropping process this second time, compared with the original ba. In addition to the new implants, he did a lift/reduction and did end up doing somewhat of a pocket revision after all to position the new girls to better advantage. The first time I was allowed to go braless right away, but because of the extra stitching from the modified pocket revision, I must wear support night and day for 3 weeks. No underwires for a month. I tried on for the ps the bra he had me bring into surgery that I wanted to end up being able to wear, and it fits well, and then I tried on for him one of the one pc. body shapers (like a stretchy tank suit, by Fleexies, no stitching to irritate tender boobies) that I find so comfy, and he said they provided enough support to be wearing them for this first 3 weeks of recovery. Because of the extra stitching from the pocket revision, I am supposed to be wearing support 24/7 except for my delightful shower times. I am beyond thrilled!!!!!!!!!! I am back to the gym doing gentle cardio and back driving, all with the doc's approval. As I left for my appt. this morning, I was feeling pretty emotional, as you guys might imagine, and significant others and husbands can be so clueless!!!!!!!! My husband says, "what's the big deal, you already peeked at them, and you said they looked fine"...he had not a clue what an emotional experience unveiling after a ba (redo) can be. I do have to say, though, that he's been pretty supportive otherwise, and even playfully named the original ba girls "Lucy" and "Ethyl". Now we're trying to decide whether to name my nice new girls "Lucy2" and "Ethyl2" or perhaps name them after more spirited gals like "Thelma" and "Louise". At least my husband does have a sense of humor, lol. Sorry this got to be so lengthy....hope I haven't put anyone to sleep. By the way, on the way home, I was exhausted, but managed to get to the mall, where I splurged on sassy new underwear, little camis with shelf support to wear until I can use regular bras, and little matching panties, and a few new of those Flexees Body Shapers. And as I am leaving the store, I see this gorgeous pair of Ralph Lauren black lace trimmed jeans. Turns out I had ventured into a special section of the store with large sizes like I used to wear, and they were a 16W. So darned if I didn't find out where the other Ralph Lauren jeans were, and found the same jeans in a perfectly fitting size 6, which is still such a novelty for me. And of course they came home with me too. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for all the support and encouragement you all have given me and for all the patience you all have showed me no matter how many questions I have asked. I am now going to go take the longest and most luxurious shower of my life and then sleep the afternoon away with my purring kitty. Happy Thanksgiving to you all....this special place is definitely something I will always be thankful for. Love, Maajida
