Hey Jasmine,
Welcome!
I found this room such a godsend!
I had done alot of research (5)years worth...prior to my coming to this room. But what I like most was about this forum is that the ladies here...
are like really good friends. They are open to sharing their experiences...and the moderators (The Ladies in The Know:-) are very informative..and this helps when you are beginning this process of researching your particular procedure.
I live in the San Diego area and my BA was $5,800.00.
My PS is awesome! and he was just what I was looking for!(As I mentioned I had been researching this for quite a while), and the process was a times "disappointing". There are alot of PSs out there who will make all kinds of claims, promises, and guarantees regarding what they can do for you. Do your homework. Research them (their credentials) as best you can. Don't be afraid to ask questions (No matter how silly, or crazy you think they may be). You should have a good repoirte <sp?
with him/her... They should be easy for you to talk to...and not make you feel intimidated or embarassed.

I always look on the internet to try and find more info but it seems that I tend to end up on sites that have not a MOST important info BEFORE your BA", that our Dear Miki has posted and it is filled with tons of info, and wonderful information, please if you are able to read this it will help you with many question you might have now as well as bring question to mind as well...
The first thing once you locate several PS you will want to get at least three consults with three different PS, also make sure he/she is "A Board Certified me, but it might not had been for all, but it was VERY important to me that my PS had privilege's to operate at several different hospitals, and he did....
If you have any more question please feel free to ask, we all are here for you...

I am in Canada and paid somewhere around $6000 for saline implants and love them, but keep in mind that you will have several post op visits and if you have problems with your surgery or implants that chances are http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/viewAlbum.php?albumid=1669&password=breasts

Hi and welcome - This really is a good place to be. I learned about everything I needed to know on the internet, much of it from this site. Be sure to read the stickys and do the measuring so you can figure out what will fit your chest. You will be able to look up the different models on the charts and will get a range of ccs to do the rice test with - where you fill a knee hi or cut off pantyhose leg with a certain amt of ccs of uncooked rice and try on a bra you would aspire to fill. Just about anything is possible these days with the wide range of implants, the trick is to pick the one which fits and accomplishes your goal. I think it is a really good idea to know a lot before you go see anyone. Your family doc is a good place to ask about a ps, I would start there. It may also be that someone here is in your area and can give you some ideas. I actually found the ps I used through someone here who really like him.
I'm in Canada and I keep hearing that our docs don't work on US patients, not sure why that would be but the question does come up. I would be reluctant to go any father away from home than an easy drive because of follow up care so unless you are right on the border it would be moot. Right now the exchange is such that I don't think it winds up being that much cheaper compared to the US. Really good news for you is that silicone is finally approved there, we have been able to get it here all along.Rose - Inamed410 "Gummy Bears" pics here
