LadyK...

Question
LadyK,
If you do decide to go for a redo in February, are you still planning on redoing with saline or would you consider going with Silicone. I have just been looking at some implants that seem like what you are looking for but I wondered if you would consider a switch to silicone gels?
After reading what you like/dislike about the implants you have now, you have me intrigued...because I don't think it would be too hard to achieve what you are looking for!
But...and I sure hope Miki jumps in on this one---I don't understand why your PS would tell you to switch from mod profile to low profile if you want to achieve MORE upperpole fullness
Miki...can you explain that????? TooPetite

Answer
I will absolutely go for silicone as that was what I originally wanted. My ps stated that to achieve fullness on top I would need the low profile as they are a bigger implants and would cover more breast area. Right now mine look like they start 1 1/2 inches from my arm crease and they are starting to look like they are sinking down my chest. I really wanted them to look natural but I don't feel that they do. I posted my most recent pics (13.5 weeks) and I am not sure if you can see what I mean. Maybe he needs to do a lift so that I can get them moved up on my chest and then add better silicone implants.
I hope that at 6 months he will agree with me that we need to do something to fix what I see as a not so good look. I think he thinks that I am being unresonalbe in wanted perky boobs at 48 but I don't see why I can't get them if I am having plastic surgery. Why should I do all this to have saggy droopy boobs? Answer
I am really glad you want to switch to silicone gel
Ok, I am certainly no expert but, here is what I see...
You have Style 68, Mod Profile, Round Saline, 330's. They have a diameter of 12.3cm and a projection of 4.2cm. From your pics I think that diameter seems perfect for you. So, to me it looks like the upper portion of your implant is "collapsing", for lack of a better word. This therefore is causing you to NOT have the upperpole fullness you are wanting. If you were to switch to a firmer silicone gel then I would think that would make a difference.
Look at this implant.
Inamed Style 20, Round, Smooth, High Profile
450cc - 12.4cm diameter - 5.2cm projection
This would give you a larger implant, same diameter, more projection and more upperpole fullness. Now, add that in with a lift and I think it would make a world of difference. If you find that implant a little too large, look at one size smaller.
Inamed Style 20, Round, Smooth, High Profile
425cc - 12.0cm diameter - 5.2 cm projection (same as 450cc)
That projection is not massive, mine have a 5.0cm projection. So it seems to me that you just need a little change in implant style. And, the silicone would "hold up" better in the top to produce your upperpole fullness
You could look at the Style 45 but that would give you ALOT more...maybe too much.
Inamed Style 45
550cc - 12.4cm diameter - 6.0cm projection
Lets see if Mama Miki blesses us with her presence and gives us her opinion on all of this TooPetite

Answer
LadyK,
I have been thinking about your situation with your PS saying you should switch to low profile. I am thinking he is meaning this with saline. I was thinking that he is just trying to get the implant to "spread" out in your chest more. I think with saline, the more you fill it the smaller the diameter of the implant gets. So, I think he means a high profile saline would become too narrow for your BWD as he overfilled Does any of this make sense!?! I don't know if I am choosing the right words to get my point across. I think he is saying "low profile" to get the widest diameter, to "fill up" the upper portion of your chest, but that doesn't seem like it would give you the "upperpole fullness" you want. If you went with a firmer silicone gel, in close to the same diameter that you have, the gel would not "collapse" as much at the top as the saline does. The gel would help you to "maintain" the fullness at the upper part of your breasts, therefore giving you the upperpole fullness you are wanting.
Anyway, I still say you should definitely switch to a firmer silicone gel. I think you should choose around the same diameter implant that you have now because it seems to fit your BWD really well...definitely in High Profile I am sure that will help you achieve the results you want, and if you decide...a lift can only help that much more
Did your PS EVER mention you might get better results with silicone gel?TooPetite

Answer
TooPetite you said exactly what my ps was saying about the low profile filling out the upper portion of my breast and yes, he was talking saline. He never mentioned silicone. He basically told me to wait until I am 6 months out to see if I really want to change. I completely agree with you that it looks like the upper portion of my implant is "collapsing" and that is why I have lost the fullness on top.
I was thinking about it last night and I don't think he make the pockets correctly. I measured from the armpit crease to the top of the implant and I have a 2 1/2 inch drop. I don't think that is the correct way an implant should be placed. I am no http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/viewAlbum.php?albumid=1636

Answer
LadyK, I've been following this and I wonder if you might consider the implants I have? They are wide and very high projection, but anatomical in shape. I chose that shape because I though at the size I was going it would just look more natural, I have a bit of that slope which I like but there is definite fullness which I like too. They are the consistency of jello as opposed to more liquid. There are two drawbacks to these as far as I know - you can get "traction" rippling if you don't have much tissue to cover them as they are textured so not for some, and the issue of the implant rotating - which is why you need a ps who is very skilled at these because the techniques and all are very different from placing a round implant. I'm lucky here in Canada silicone has always been more available and these have been in use here by some docs for awhile- mine included.
Anyway, Too is giving you some really good advice and info - I smell a future moderator - just wanted to throw another option in there for you to consider. I'm sure with all the good research and thinking you are doing you will wind up happy - just gotta get that doc to understand just what you want. Show him some pix if you think it might help (if you haven't already)

Answer
Rose,
I did consider your Style 410. The only problem is she would have to have a BWD of about 13.0cm to 13.5cm to accomodate the grs she is wanting. She is not sure of her BWD, so I am going by the implant she currently has. That is 12.3cm and seems to fit her quite well. But...if she could accomodate the extra, then absolutely , your style may very well be the ticket. She does like the anatomical shape. I think we need to clarify her BWD to be able to give her all of her options
I think if we told LadyK we were going to get her an implant to look like "YOU", something tells me she would be quite thrilled [/b]TooPetite

Rose,
I was just looking at the charts again, at the 410 Series. I think you have 7.1cm projection, is that right? If so, then I don't think I have all the charts. I can't find that one so I am thinking I am missing one. If so, maybe there is an implant in your style that gives her around 450gr with a 12.3 "ish" diameter. Can you check. I am looking at "Full Height/Full Projection". I think you may have said yours are "Xtra-Full Projection". If so, I can't find them
Can you straighten me out, please TooPetite

Rose,
Ok, I found them. They are not listed with the others. I had to find them in a different way.
Anyway...she could get:
Inamed 410 Series, Textured, Anatomical, Xtra Projection
450gr - 13.0cm diameter - 6.1cm projection (not sure if she could accomodate a 13.0cm diameter )
This just might be possible, maybe she should check into this style as well. She would certainly get her "projection" from these!TooPetite

Answer
I agree about not going with the low profile??? The pockets looke fine I just think more projection will give you that upper fullness you want. I agree with Too Petite about the higher profile one that has the same width....I think that is what Maajida's doc did for her too. AND she also is changing to silicone. NOW as for the 48 years old....girl we are young....AND can have perky breasts.......do not give in.....

You are quite welcome..do your homework and when Maajida is better talk to her too...she researched this issue for months and had some of the same issues you do......I had to go through 3 redos to get mine at least 90% of the way I wanted so it is worth it.....you just have to stay focused.....
