Question
Hi all! Had my extra planning session with the ps prior to my pre-op which is scheduled for Monday. Redo will take place Nov. 15th., at last! Many of you know I'm about 7 mos. post op from my original ba, and that what started out as an assymetry issue morphed into the more major concern about ending up way too big for what I'd had in mind. I scheduled the extra planning session with the ps because I had so many unanwered questions and wanted to make sure we were on the same page before I went further with the pre-op. My ps was extremely kind and patient and responsive to my concerns. I do have some conflicting desires for the redo which are involving some compromise, but together we settled on what I am comfortable with and what answered my concerns and what he feels would work best taking all that into consideration. I want to go smaller, so will be switching from my present 475's (filled to 525 on each side) to 300 or 350 cc's and will also be switching from saline to silicone, and from round moderates to high profiles. There was concern that the high profiles would be too narrow, but the surgeon feels that with getting rid of all the extra side boobage, which is very important to me also, and with the accompanying lift and reduction, that this will work proportionately for me, and give me the best chance to get a balance of the redo features that I am concerned about: going smaller, getting rid of the excess side boobage, getting more upper fullness and a better separated cleavage area, and dealing with the assymetry. We had considered sticking with the round mods but ps felt that wouldn't have truly met all my needs. So, I am feeling a little better and more settled, and anxious to look forward to the pre-op and the actual redo and its recovery. Thanks to everyone who kept responding to my anxious questions about all this......I am so appreciative of all the wonderful support and info you guys have shared. I am nervous about everything turning out right this time, but I am much more hopeful now that I am truly on my way. Maajida

Hi Lynn!
I am so happy for your upcoming redo; you sound like you are finally at peace and at a comfort level to proceed.
Kim and I talked about this before her redo . . . did we just go into this so naive like we thought it would be "no big deal", not unlike changing our hair colour?
Regardless, we are here on this board to help, educate and support each other.
Lotsa hug hun!

Miki Hi Miki, thanks so much for your kind words. I was worried that you might think I'd made a questionable choice after all the concern we expressed about hp's possibly being too narrow....but I spoke with ps specifically about this issue and he felt that overall, this was the best way to go and that the width and projection concerns would still be best met this way and with the switch to silicone. I know I've been driving you all crazy with all my agonizing, and there's no way I can ever thank you enough for all the support, encouragement, and time you have spent on my behalf. sincerely, Maaj

alex. Hi Alex, thanks so much for your encouraging words too. I don't know, I don't think any of us went into the ba experience naive or thinking that it was a frivolous decision, but I for one, never dreamed there would be so many aspects of the experience that we would have to make those decisions about. If there's one thing I've learned here from all of the wonderful participants on this board, it's that we have a right to ask questions and more questions and as many questions as we want. I also know now that this is not an exact science and that all of us do the best we can at any given time. We've sure learned alot along the way, haven't we? Thanks again, Alex. Maaj

How exciting that you are going to be a Grandma!!! It is the VERY best thing that has happened to me, grandbabies are awesome!!! I have two, buttttt my SIL is in for two weeks from the US Army and my bet is I WILL have a 3rd grandbaby in nine months or so...
I am soooo bad -- I teach my grandchildren a lot of bad habits and a few weeks back I feel something fly across the table and land in my hair and I be dang my grandson had thrown a chip across the table at me and landed in my hair, dip and all.... All I could do was bust a gut from laughing so hard because he too thought it to be so dang funny he just chunked a chip a G-momma and it laned in her hair... My DD had to laugh too, but now I think I am banned from going out to eat with them anymore b/c grandson and I are ALWAYS getting in to "BIG" trouble....
His momma will say "do you want to get into big trouble", and he will shake his head no as hard as he can -- then I will say "you wanna get into little trouble with G-momma", and he will shake his head yes, and just .... I am so bad for them I know, but it is just to much fun....
You are going to LOVE being a Grandma, and you will be an AWESOME one too!!!

Lezza Aww, Lezza, thanks so much for the sharing of your own awesome grandma experience. It is very exciting! And I am 100% sure that you are the best grandma your grandkids could ever hope to have...that spirit and joy and love of life that you communicate to them is worth its weight in gold....I suspect that you are NOT bad for them, but sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo very good! They are lucky little ones to have you in their lives. I think my dd is a little reluctant to get too excited to early in the http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/viewAlbum.php?albumid=1296
