I've discussed the new Mentor Lumera anatomical textured implants wiht Dr Chang in Baltmore who does reconstructive surgery at Mercy as he has been uning these since last year. When I first visited him to discuss the pro's and cons , he had only implanted 3-4 women and they were doing ok. A few months later we went back as Amy still had rippling with the silicone...by then he was beginning to be be 100% thrilled with these and was concerned about the rippling issue with the textured. We were talking and hoping that Mentor would come out with smooth ones so tha the rippling issue would be null and void then but you then have the issue of the implant rotating...must be a compromise somewhere.. The texturesd surface has had a negative effect on ripplling...he thought Amy should wait and see what else comes up from them.
The other PS I talked to was so so about the Lumera

I agreee in Miki's Post.
I have not see in a woman first hand just some pictures.
But we both spent extensive time with the PS and discussed the "gummies". I was excited at first... Then Dr. Chang asked me to wait and see first and he would follow his patients through several more follow up and stages and see... Mind you there were very limited ones that he had done the new on like 4-5 by this point.
We waited and followed up at several more stages and he and myself with Miki there discussed the pro's and con's of them. Woman in this small amount were still seeing and some worse then prior rippling.
So since they are textured that would not be a best bet for myself.
I thought the idea of them being "firmer" was great but not at the expense of more ripples trust me i would look like a Ripples potatoe chip if i were any more rippled.
So i am waitng to see what else pops up.
Not saying i think they are unsafe at all.. I have educated myself a lot in the last 7 years. Heck in the last 2 years.
Would love myself to keep hearing from ladies that do decide on them what that they feel and think along the road and stages of settleing and down the road.
