Question
Hi everyone. I did read that article that Miki and others referred to in the earlier post about unders vs overs.....I am supposed to be getting saline unders on April 7th. and was under the impression that the difference between saline and silicone is less noticeable when unders are involved. I also appreciate hearing of the increased accuracy of breast exams with unders and the way their size can be adjusted on the spot. I am confidant that my surgeon is listening to my concerns about not going too big and staying pretty close to my 36C but just filling it out better and with a little cleavage. But that article by Dr. yourownchoice@comcast.net
Answer
where would you get this could affect performance.
But for the average, athletic, fit individual without a lot of body fat "unders" area good choice to hide rippling, wrinkling, and perhaps protect against CC.
Answer
Hi Dr. JLo and thanks for your post to me. I am definitely not a professional athlete, just someone who has come to appreciate the benefits of working out (cardio and wt. resistance training) as part of the healthy program that has helped me lose nearly 100 pounds. With unders, making sure I follow Miki's advice about communicating well with my surgeon as to my desired size, will I be able to return to my usual workout activities like step and spin class, and moderate wt. training?? If so, how long does the typical BA patient wait to resume exercise routines? It is so wonderful to see you posting here. Sincerely, MaajidaThe pec muscle is cut, permanently, along the part that is attached to your breastbone. I would avoid this if you are a competitive racquet sport plcould affect performance.

Answer
Dear Miki, thankyou for responding to my concerns. I am taking very very seriously your advice about being explicit in my communication with my surgeon and I really appreciate everything else you had to say. My BWD appears to be 8" on each side, according to your instructions for measuring and my ribcage is 33". I am 138, and 5'3". In addition to the size concerns, I was very alarmed when I read that article by Dr. B and with unders I want to make sure I can get back to my usual exercise routine which is cardio machines, step and spin classes, and moderate wt. resistance training with my trainer. From what Dr. JLo said in his response to me, it sounds like the cut muscle that happens with unders is more of a problem for professional athletes, which I am not. Of course I will be ayourownchoice@comcast.net

Thanks again, Maajida PS: I have never heard of the imaging projection you spoke of...how does one go about having that done?? The BEST thing you can do to make SURE you are ont he same page as your Dr about the size you want:
Bring pics of what you hope to look like and what you DON'T want to look like
NEVER, NEVER assume you and your PS are "thinking" alike..This is a hugh mistake many people make and find themselves very very unhappy with no recourse afterwards. Every SINGLE one of us here has different ideas on what WE personally think looks like a great pair of breasts and what one thinks of as lage another thinks of as average or small. So..a picture DOES say a thousand words.
Get an imaging projection done with your own photo so that you can see what larger breasts look like on you..cleavage and all.
Know and do your OWN BWD measurement and help choose the implant that fits on YOUR chest wall..this will help insure your breast will not have a large gap between them.

8 inches is a BWD of around 20..Do you have a very muscular wide upper body? I am the same height..5 ft 3, 130 lbs BWD is 14.7 ribcage is 29 1/2.
I thought I saw a blurb that MMH was doing imaging projections? Been too busy until today to research much about it.
Have you posted pics anywhere for me to see?HI AGAIN, MIKI, IT SOUNDS LIKE WE HAVE SOME SIMILARITIES IN MEASUREMENTS. YES, MY UPPER BODY SEEMS MUSCULAR, BUT DOESN'T LOOK IT FROM THE OUTSIDE. I SEEM TO HAVE DENSE MUSCLE TISSUE AND PEOPLE SAY I DON'T LOOK LIKE I WEIGH AS MUCH AS I DO. I AM WORKING ON THE RICE TEST INSTRUCTIONS, BUT NO I HAVEN'T SENT YOU PICTURES YET...YOU DID GIVE ME YOUR CELL NUMBER AND I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT. PERHAPS I CAN GET COPIES OF PIX MY DR. WILL TAKE AT THE NEXT APPT. HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT PEOPLE RESUMING REGULAR WT. TRAINING AND WORKING OUT WHO ALSO HAVE UNDERS? THANKS AGAIN FOR STAYING IN TOUCH. SORRY TO READ ON OTHER POSTS THAT YOU'VE HAD A ROUGH TIME LATELY. I KNOW EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR ALL OF US HERE AT THIS SITE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED BY ALL. SINCERELY, MAAJIDA
There are MANY people here who resume their weight training very well with no issues. They do know aboutt he implant distortion that is there while the muscle is flexed and wearing an excellent support bra is very important. I think you'll do just fine with the unders.
Practice sending the pics via the cell phone. Many times the PS office will email them to you ;)MIKI, THANKYOU....MY NEXT APPT. WITH THE SURGEON IS 27TH. OF THIS MONTH. I WILL WORK ON GETTING YOU THE PIX. THANKS SO MUCH. IT SEEMS THAT THE MORE I READ OUR BOARD HERE, THE MORE QUESTIONS I HAVE...AND I GUESS THAT'S A GOOD THING. I DO APPRECIATE THE INFO RE THE IMPLANT DISTORTION WHEN THE MUSCLE IS FLEXED. WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE AND HOW DOES IT FEEL TO EXPERIENCE? SHOULD I POST THAT AS A QUESTION ON THE BOARD? MAAJIDA
