"OPTIMUM" FILL VOLUME QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO CAN

Question
Does anyone know what the "optimum" fill volumes are for:
Inamed/moderate 360's
and
Inamed/moderate 390's
I know that the "max" fill is 390cc for the 360 and 420cc for the 390, but I also know that the "optimum" fill volumes are higher and help to prevent rippling.
One more question, do all PS fill to "optimum" or do most just fill to "max"?
Thanks in advance for all of your help. 5'6", 145 lbs, 36C/preop

Answer
I think the model # of the Inamed saline implants that you have are the following based on the min/max fill amounts. They are style 68 MP) mod profiles:
360 - 390cc Model # 68-360 BWD 12.7 4.2
390 - 420cc Model #68-390 BWD 13.0 4.5
The MAX amount that the manufacturer allows is what you have already stated to stay within the warranty from Inamed. While more can be added above the Mfg max limit you would have to find a PS willing to do so.
Hopefully the FDA and Mentor and Inamed will increase their max fill volumes so that the rippling issues will dramatically decrease.

Answer
I don't really "go by numbers" because every patient has their own risk for rippling/wrinkling. I do more things to avoid rippling in thin women with little breast tissue.
I will usually overfill by around 20% and that works well.
Going beyond that will of course make the implant firmer.

Answer
Overfill as in going over the max mfg max fill range? I know it makes for less chance of rippling but many PS are hesitatant to fill past the mfg max unfortunately due to implant warranty. Seems to me that it is cheaper to go past the mfg with cc's and possibly avoid the warranty when rippling seems a significant issue then having to switch out implants for silicone...one has to pay for the new implants.
Cheaper to fill past the max when needed, which in most cases seems to be the case.

Answer
I stay within the volumes set by the implant company and haven't had any problems. There are obviously surgeons that overfill.Best Regards,

Answer
My ps overfilled by 20%, and I did just fine...the implants are a little bit firmer, but not really that noticable.....even with the overfill, if I feel really hard alond the crease, I can feel some rippling, but nothing visual........but each ps is different and will only do what is in their comfort level.
