Answer
My skin is terribly oily, and prone to break outs- on the other hand, I'm pushing 50- and dealing with the aging skin issues, too!
I love the alphaderma- one of the few product lines that does what it says, and boy did I try many.
The alphaderma has helped my skin texture, tone, wrinkles, krinkles, etc.
Subtley, but noticiable. After a few weeks of use, my whole face seemed to have lifted.
It does not address oily skin or breakouts though, however it is also one of the few lines that doesn't make more skin more oily or cause break outs.
From my experience, its one of the few I can use without looking like a grease ball

Answer
Lekat, you use retinA with the Alphaderma, don't you? That should be a help for oily mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin, breakouts as well....I'm 47 and use it--but don't have oily skin-- (and for my last two periods, didn't even get the telltale pimple on my chin that has come and gone for YEARS! yay)....Gave some to my 21 year old daughter, who has some mmh/product/beauty/acne/index.vm?procid=13&catid=205" target=_blank>acne, mostly just on her chin, tho, and fairly oily skin, and although it's only been 2 weeks, I see a difference in her skin as well). I agree about the alphaderma...that combo just seems to work...especially in my most troublesome area...the crepiness under my mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eyes...(mmh/product.do?id=16215&procid=13&catid=682" target=_blank>mmh/product.do?id=16215&procid=13&catid=682" target=_blank>mmh/product.do?id=16215&procid=13&catid=682" target=_blank>Okusil).BR, Chin/Neck Lipo 6/29/2005; BR revisions and lipo 5/24/2006

Hi,
I have been using the trio Alpha Derma products since Christmas. I just started using there mmh/product/vitamins_supplements/index.vm?procid=44" target=_blank>vitamin c as well How does this differ from the mmh/product/beauty/obagi/index.vm?procid=13&catid=202" target=_blank>Obagi's vitamin C? (I also use Retin A firstly.) It is not that my mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin looks bad, but it looked very smooth and velvety when I was using OTC Oil of Olay Regenerist. Can anyone explain that? There is a board opinions.com where this Regerist is highly rated amongst users. Just wondering what anyones thoughts would be. In comparison with ingredients I am sure the Alpha Derma products far out weigh the oil of olay. Not to mention price point, ($$) but still my skin looked very nice on the cheaper product. I also had some vbeam laser treatments which could have added to the velvety look. Thanks.

Answer
Yes- I use micro retin a- every night, except when I do peels. I'm surprised I left that out in my first post, since that is an integral part of my routine.
I apply the retin a first, wait a bit, then the alpha derma products. I use both under my mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eyes, and just the alpha derma on my upper eye lids. In the a.m., I just use the alpha derma. I find my foundation goes on great over it.
I use to use the regular retin a- I switched because it became too irritating to my skin- (that could be because of the other products I use + with the peels).
I still break out, though the micro has really helped that.
As far as the oil of olay, as I stated in other posts, it seems there are a few good lines out there- some just work better than others for different people.. Other lines just consistently come up as not working (tns recovery). It seems that mmh/product/beauty/skinceuticals/index.vm?procid=13&catid=487" target=_blank>skinceuticals, alpha derma, trueradiance and regenerist are the ones that have the best success. I've tried all 4, and for me, my skin seems to respond best to the alpha derma.
If the regenerest gives you a good response, then save yourself some money and use it! you can use the savings for botox and fillers .
From what I've researched, the regenerest has good ingredients and generally good reviews.
Talk about OTC products, for foundation I mostly use revlon age defying, oil free- and sometimes pressed mineral makeup. Foundation is something else I've spent a small fortune on, trying everything out there and ironically, the revlon AD works best for me and I get compliments on my skin all the time. I've tried mmh/product/makeup/prescriptives/index.vm?procid=54&catid=978" target=_blank>prescriptives, mmh/product/beauty/estee_lauder/index.vm?procid=13&catid=395" target=_blank>estee lauder, mmh/product/beauty/shiseido/index.vm?procid=13&catid=446" target=_blank>shiseido, etc., etc., etc.!
The vitamin C is in alpha derma- I'm not sure what all the difference is between alpha derma Vitamin c and mmh/product/beauty/obagi/index.vm?procid=13&catid=202" target=_blank>Obagi vitamin c- one obvious thing is that the ingredients it is mixed with will be different, and I would think the concentration might be different. It is probably less in alpha derma, since the ad also has mmh/product/liposuction/index.vm?procid=9" target=_blank>lipoic acid in it and too high of c with it might be too irritating- I dunno- Lookinup could probably provide a good explanation of this- whatdoyahsay?

Answer
Lookinup- I am still menstruating, get terrible pms, and STILL get the breakouts with the period! You can tell what stage of the cycle I'm at just by looking at my face. Very annoying to be dealing with frequent break outs at my age, and it is not just 'one' pimple when I do.
I've been to derm doc's - they usually give me minyclyne, (sp) which clears everything up, but then I get yeast infections and stomach issues. What a pain ----

Answer
Lekat,
Yes that is a great idea the money on Alpha Derma could be best used elsewhere as in facial fillers. I all ready got the products all of them, for the Alpha Derma. $160.00 for the cleanser skin prep and lotion plus the sample pack which has the oil and vitiamin c in it. After this is gone I might not use it again. I think the C in Ester (??) or something. I know the girl sexbeach could be an advertisement for Ogagi she swears by the C. I do like the way my skin looks like after I put the C on. It does make it look nice. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think that the oil of olay regenerist, in addition to the 'peptides, has perhaps more silicone than the others?I don't have it in front of me, so I am not 100% sure--but I think that's in it too.... that would definitely give your skin a smooth look. Many companies make 'foundation base' which is basically silicone--it is clear and almost a gel/serum--very sillky--English Ideas, Smashbox and I think Paula Dorf and some other department store lines sell them. (and if all else fails, or these aren't available, you can use biosilk or frizzease serum for the same effect!--read that in a book and it works!! lol) After your skin care routine and before your makeup, just put a small bit of this on...your makeup will go on very smoothly and it doesn't clog pores. (Signature Club A makes a silicone based makeup, and I think Chanel does too--or else it will be out very shortly. Also goes on very smoothly, but gives a very dewy finish...so if you use those, you might want to use either a light dusting of mineral powder or Jerome Alexander's Italian Marble powder to matte it up a bit.) What was the question again??? (I tell you, I'll be myself again in 3 days...both kids will be back at college! Yippee!)BR, Chin/Neck Lipo 6/29/2005; BR revisions and lipo 5/24/2006

Answer
Looking up that is very interesting to know that explains why my skin seemed smoother with the oil of olay. Makes perfect sense to me. That doesn't mean of course it is better on the whole, it could just be an outside thing, not really penetrating layers at all. Thanks for the informative info. At least now I have an idea. I don't wear face make up at all, or powder believe it or not I don't it just clogs up my skin. I have no need for it at all.
