Answer
I know, like driving a new care - this will take some getting use to ----
I use alpha derma - I have not tried the mmh/product/beauty/obagi/index.vm?procid=13&catid=202" target=_blank>obagi. I chose Alpha Derma because it contains all the good ingredients- mmh/product/vitamins_supplements/index.vm?procid=44" target=_blank>vitamin c ester, dmae, argilene, alpha mmh/product/liposuction/index.vm?procid=9" target=_blank>lipoic acid, & the mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin prep contains the minerals - copper, etc. and hyalronic acid. The 4 oz bottle lasts 4 months, so to me the value is excellent- and it works for me. I do use micro retin a, and I believe you would need to use that separately with the obagi also. I also do my own home mmh/product/chemicalpeel/home_peels/tca/index.vm?procid=4&catid=1045&subcatid=1047" target=_blank>tca mmh/product/chemicalpeel/index.vm?procid=4" target=_blank>peels.
Having said that, I know that some products seem to work for some people better than others- I am happy I finally found a product that works for me. My ps sells obagi and also pericone- I have tried the pericone, and for the money the alpha derma works better for me and seems to have the same ingredients (actually, I don't think the pericone has the arginlene in it).
I am also in a quandry- though I am way into middle age with the middle age skin issues, I also have issues with break outs and cystic acne. (some of us have all the luck). Product lines that are too 'heavy' have caused acne flare ups for me. This has NOT been the case with the alpha derma.
I also do the light tca peels at home (my ps offers these with the obagi for a mer $600 or so). I am VERY happy with the tca peels and between these and the alpha derma (and canada pharmacy for the micro retin a) I am spending tons less $ than previous years on my face. So much that I can now spend it on radianse & botox & the future surgery fund.

I use Alphaderma CE and mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin prep too(not to mention mmh/product.do?id=16215&procid=13&catid=682" target=_blank>mmh/product.do?id=16215&procid=13&catid=682" target=_blank>mmh/product.do?id=16215&procid=13&catid=682" target=_blank>Okusil and also mmh/product/beauty/revision/index.vm?procid=13&catid=591" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/revision/index.vm?procid=13&catid=591" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/revision/index.vm?procid=13&catid=591" target=_blank>Teamine)...I was surprised that the skin prep has copper in it, followed by the Ce which has mmh/product/vitamins_supplements/index.vm?procid=44" target=_blank>vitamin C! Must be negligeable amounts of copper....Copper deactivates Vitamin C. (Either that, or the Vitamin C ester is deactivated and essentially useless if you use one followed by the other. )BR, Chin/Neck Lipo 6/29/2005; BR revisions and lipo 5/24/2006

Lekat,
I just got botox and radience last Fri for the first time....to my n/l folds, lips...and botox to my mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eyes (crows feet) love it! Haven't seen much result as of yet from the botox...I understand it takes longer to see results your first time....you??
Answer
gaflower:
Yes, I love the radiense on the naso folds too! I have terrible assymetry there- my left naso is fine- negliable- my right one is like the himilaya's-
so they only injected under the right one- what a difference! and I get it on the borders of my upper lip, just got some on the lower lip to fill it out.
I use to have such full lips when I was a spring chicken. Quite amazing how they deflated over the years- (like the breasts).
Botox is great is between my mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eye's, it doesn't really help for under my eyes- my ps (I have 2 different one's) will not remove mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin there for fear of ptosis- he says I don't have enough skin to remove yet. Not much ever helped that area- I do however see some improvement with the skin care and mmh/product/chemicalpeel/home_peels/tca/index.vm?procid=4&catid=1045&subcatid=1047" target=_blank>tca mmh/product/chemicalpeel/index.vm?procid=4" target=_blank>peels (finally). My ps's will not inject radiense under the eyes either.
Answer
Botox can take a week to 'kick in'....When I had botox, it did virtually nothing...(only me)....when I went back, the derm explained that I had other muscles that were compensating for the 'frozen' ones, so she had to give me more injections into the compensatory muscles...(almost up near my hairline)...that worked--too well---I really didn't like the feel of it...I felt like my forehead was huge because it was pretty immobile....even with that, it only lasted me about 7 weeks....(I had expected at least 3 months!)...for 500 dollars ugh...I decided to go topical instead. Obviously not nearly as effective as the botox, but not bad, either.BR, Chin/Neck Lipo 6/29/2005; BR revisions and lipo 5/24/2006
