The people who suggested the teams in the first place are gone. Fewer and fewer people post on the weigh-ins. Do you want to keep the teams or ditch them?
I, myself, did not join a team because I felt I would let others down, so I became the cheerleader, and subsequently the scorekeeper. I will be happy to continue, but what do you gals think. Are the teams helpful? Do you think some members have quit because of them? Or is it just the transient nature of cyberspace?
Please post your thoughts...DON'T just LURK!!! (YOU know who you are, LURKERS. We may not SEE you, but we see your forensic evidence left behind!)
Waiting for input....Gael

I'm not sure whether to keep teams or not...I think if it motivates some, then it's worth doing for those folks. My trouble is that my schedule is really wonky, and I am not great with structure...remembering to weigh in (and then being able to get to the scale and the computer on the right day) is difficult for me. Also, I tend not to want to weigh myself as often as every week. I weigh about once a month, at most. I still have residual scale-fear, I guess.
I would be interested in participating in some challenge oriented things, if they were loose enough that I could do them with my odd lifestyle.Journal

I enjoy coming to this board and reading all the wonderful posts - but felt a little on the outside as I was not a member of a team (maybe this goes back to my insecure high school days). I also felt that if I did not do well I would bring the team down.
I love the sharing and support that goes on here, with or without teams. So, as long as we all feel free to participate regardless of team status then we can share our thoughts and not worry about holding up a team. If the nature of the online community is very transient, then it's OK if the team concept is naturally dissolved. I for one will lurk less and participate more.AL, BL, TT Board Moderator

We could lose the teams ... just as long as we keep the challenges! We can still weigh in (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place biggest losers?)??? And we should challenge each other with exercises (remember the squat challenge -- I couldn't walk for 2 days!! )!
I agree, the nature of cyberspace (here today, gone tomorrow ... back next week ...) makes it hard to maintain an even number of people on teams.
We can still have fun as one big group vs. seperate teams.

I have to say you can keep them or ditch them, but I never joined a team. I didn't want to let anyone down or feel like I'm competing and making my team lose. I think it's a great idea, I just couldn't do it. I do lurk here myself, post a few times, but don't weigh in with you guys much because I think of it as a "team" thing. I guess I feel kind of dorky. ha. I say majority rules so if you guys want to keep it, go for it.

I like weighing in. It keeps me on track. I have it in the back of my head to stay focused. The team put's that competitive pressure to do well. As far as letting anyone down for me it's letting myself down when I don't eat right or exercise. I never felt ill against anyone not losing enough weight. If you look at my posts I guess I was probably the one that was gaining the most. I don't let that discourage me because I know as long as I'm on track it will eventually just tone up. It doesn't always show up on the scale. Either way I love the support this site gives!! I went away for a night out of town with my husband and even tried on a bikini to my horror! I was remembering Cindy's challenge. I am going to do that for my own journal again. Last time it really did wonders. Sometimes it doesn't feel like I'm making progress and then I look at the pics and I can see some toning going on. Especially my backside and legs. I guess I'm at a great starting point ! Hang in there. Sometimes lives get busy and we will post when we can. This site is always close to my heart. There are a bunch of great people here.

May I propose then that we lose the teams, but keep the challenges and the weekly weigh-ins? I think it's better that we are one group working, sharing, laughing together, but that's JMHO
It appears I will be unemployed for about a month.(I have never in my adult life had free time...totally new concept for me!) If you would like, I can lead the group temporarily until I start my new job, when I will gladly "pass the torch" to someone else. Perhaps we could take turns, say for one week, leading the "gang" onwards to victory over our common enemy.
This is a great group, I LOVE you girls. Soooo...what do you think? Gael

I could care less about having teams. I kind of saw as as one group anyway. If more people will participate in our forum without them by all means we should abolish them. I like the idea to keep some weekly challenges to keep us motivated. I weigh in weekly on Saturdays so posting it is no big deal.

I am one that will go along with what ever works best. So just let me know what works for everyone. With summer just around the corner I think the post are going to be less and less anyway. I know I am one that loves the summer and being outdoors is my absolute favorite thing to do sun up to sun down. And now that I am smaller and no belly slowing me down I have a feeling I will be out even more. If that's possible!!! But I will check in and not totally disappear.

I like the "one big group" concept; I also like the idea of posting a weekly challenge and a weekly weigh-in. Since I've just recently come to this board, I'm new to the challenge part, but it sounds fun. Funnykins, I think it's great you've offered to be head cheerleader while you're off work. I also like the idea of passing the torch to a willing person every week or so once you're no longer available. Juliepictures/viewAlbum.php?albumid=296

Hi everyone! I am one of those people who let my team down Sorry!! Things have been crazy around here. I use to work out of the house and did the accounting for our company from home but the last two weeks we have been moving everything to the shop. We are finally finished with getting my office ready and then moving everything, so I will be able to check in more frequently. Having one group and still doing challenges and weigh-ins sounds good to me!JeanneB
