Pleaseeeee help!!!!

Question
I started Tazorac a little over a week ago, and it IS working wonders, mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin mmh/product/chemicalpeel/index.vm?procid=4" target=_blank>peeling like mad, the redness is calming down, but oh my stars I have never had my skin to burn the way it is!!!
Talk to nurse yesterday, she told me to skip two nights, and tonight will be my second night, but after washing my face it burns so bad I have to sit in front of fan.... Please vets if there is anything I can do to ease the burning, could you PLEASE pass your thoughts my way....
I want to be able to start back on it tomorrow night --- I do not want any set backs on how well it is working...
I do not use more than a pea size per night....
I am so amazed at how well my skin is looking under all the old skin that is falling/peeling off my face, I am just shocked!!! Lezza

Answer
Hi Leeza,
Try applying a big
difference - there is something about allowing your mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin to get back some of the natural oils after you wash, or perhaps it was so your skin is totally dry -
Should help you out though. Now you have me thinking i might want to ease back into it LOL!!!! Why are you using it, acne? oiliness? sun damage?

Answer
Hello jo,
Sun Damage, been using tanning beds since I was in my mid 20's, so now trying to repair the damage that I have done... Looking to have the spray on tan once I come out of my garment full time.... I NEVER thought I would be applying mmh/product/beauty/sunscreen/index.vm?procid=13&catid=304" target=_blank>sunscreen before applying make-up, but I am now, to face neck and hands...
My husband too is amazed at how well it is working... I was given the choice of the Avage or Tazorac, being that I was given the samples of the Tazorac I decided to stick with it...Lezza

Jo,
Also wanted to ask, I have been told the two Tazorac and Avage are the same thing, is this too what you have been told? They both cost the same as well....Lezza

Answer
Just checked Avage.com and now I know, yes they are both Tazarotene - Seems the Tazorac is prescribed for psoriasis(and acne) and the Avage for mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>wrinkles. very interesting.....

Hello Lezza,
I was also going to suggest the tip of waiting 20-30 minutes. I have been using Tazorac .05% gel on and off for the last 5 yrs. Used Retin-A before that for about 10. If I get impatient and put it on too early, my skin has a pink tone to it or will flake. Better to wait.
It funny, but until i found this board, I had not really been using the taz too often. But I decided to put it back into my routine and found the texture of my skin improving. The acne seemed to be helped as well - but I liked what I saw in texture better.
The Avage has tazoretene in it, but has emmolients added to it, where as the Tazorac is full strength tazoretene. I have the .05% which is the 'weaker' one - the other strength is .1%. I also use it on some psorisis spots that pop up occasionally. But, the gel is stronger (or more irritating) than the cream.
I believe the Avage can be used in people that have reactions to the full strength version of tazoretene. If you have reactions, though, you can always back off on how often you apply Tazorac until your skin becomes used to it.

Answer
Thank you, thank you, thank you both!!!
I waited the 30 minutes last night, and boy did it ever make a huge difference, as well as I have had NO irritations at all today....
It is amazing how tight my face was though just after washing it last night so the longer I waited to apply the Tazorac cream the less tight/dry my face felt...
You all totally rock and thank you for taking the time to come to my aid and respond with your advice and support, keep up the awesome work!!!
Hugs to the ones that held my hand, and walked me through this,

Answer
I didn't know there was a Taz in .05%gel - I will try that next - my Dr always writes the RX for the largest tube so I get a better deal with my health plan - I thought only the cream came in the lower strength, and from what I read the gel absorbs into the mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin better and as I said earlier I hate the creamy/greasy formula on my oily skin - very helpful topic/exchange of ideas and info here - thanks from me too - give some n get some!

Update: Wow has my skin come a long way in just a few weeks...
First compliment came from a young lady in her mid 20's whom I did NOT know, she was noticing the skin on my face and ask about it and said that my face looks so nice and tight... Now you talking about wanting to hug someone I was totally floored with her comment....
Still NO tanning the face and NEVER again for me....
Thank you to all that came to my aid and reached out to my cry for help,
