I would like to suggest a walking tape to anyone just starting to workout again after TT. After my surgery, I felt like a truck had hit me when I tried to
walk outside. (I don't have sidewalks in my neighborhood and live in a hilly area...up & down and uneven pavement). I bought a Leslie Sansone walking DVD, which is actually a combo of 2 tapes. One is a 2 mile walk in 30 mins., and the other is 3 x 20 min. segments...you can do as much or as little as you want. I found this DVD to be excellent after no exercising for so long...helped me build up my stamina for when my PS cleared me for Curves, etc. I must admit I find Ms. Sansone to be a bit annoying...not afraid to get in touch w/her "innner geek" However, the DVD is very effective and I would recommend it to anyone just starting back. Do you know what I do that really helps when I walk on the treadmill, I load 30 minutes of songs into my ipod or on a cd. Fast songs that I know will keep my pace up. I know exactly when I'm done when the songs run out. If the songs are done and I still feel I could go on, I load more songs and soon I'm up to 45 minutes.Julie Ann
