Hello Everyone

Question
My name is Tina
I have been reading you ladies posts and all of you are an inspiration. I have not been cleared from my BR 1 week ago to get into exercise but I am working on walking for a start. I am considerably overweight and am really looking forward to getting to loose about 70lbs I am currently 5'2" and 180lbs I lost 6lbs instantly with my reduction but still beed to loose alot more. If any of you have any suggestions I am just planning on keeping with a healthy diet and for the first time in my life getting to exercise. Any other tips would be appreciated

Answer
Hey Tina!
Welcome to our wonderful group! I'd suggest to you, when cleared to exercise, you might want to start w/a walking tape. I had a TT in Sept., and found it difficult to walk outside, as we have no sidewalks in my neighborhood. It is also very hilly where I live, not level at all. I got a Leslie Sansone DVD, and it was easy to use in my own living room...great for just getting back after surgery. She's a little dorky, but the workout is good.
Anyway, jump right on in w/the rest of us. We are all in the same "weigtloss boat" LOL! Gael

Welcome Tina! Glad you found your way over here! We have a lot of fun, no stress or judgement here! We are all in this together whether we have a couple of pounds to lose or a lot. Feel free to jump right in and chat, laugh, offer suggestions and most importantly have fun.
Sounds like you are on the right track. Make sure you get clearance from you PS before doing anything, don't want you to start bleeding and developing problems so don't get your heartrate up too much right now! That's why they want you to hold off on exercising but you can get your eating habits turned around now and then by the time you get that going it will be easier for you start incorporating exercise in. Slowly walking and easing in to it is ok for now!
Good luck!

Answer
Thanks for the welcomes
I have no intentions of exercising before my PS releases me after he did all that beautiful artwork on my now pretty little breast i would hate to disrupt the healing process. As far as the changing the eating habbits I have been doing that for about 2 weeks now. I have detoxed from caffine and all sweets and with that alone I have dropped 2 pounds and now that I have the permission from my PS to go back on my water pills I should be able to drop some of this bloating pretty quick. As far as the laughs as long as I don't pop one of these 500+ stiches in my chest I will be well ok with that. well for now I am going to bed had a long night at church tonight.
God bless all of you

Welcome to the group Tina! The best thing you can do is to find a plan you can stick with for the long haul. For several of us that is weight watchers, but I know some of the ladies here have had success with other programs or going solo. As for exercise, just start out slow once you get the go ahead & work your way up. Just walking is a great place to start, especially if you are not an exerciser to begin with.

Hi Tina and Welcome!
I just wanted to chime in and say that one of my best girlfriends lost 16 pounds just from walking a hill every day home from work. Ok, so it was Russian Hill in San Francisco- but I bet you can find a hill near your house-well, maybe not in pictures/viewAlbum.php?albumid=504.

Tina!!!
Glad to have you join us 'losers'!!!
We have lots of fun here ... you'll find a bumper crop of great ladies here! You'll need to visit regularly for daily doses of inspiration, motviation and support ... and best of all, friendship.
I agree with the ladies here ... start out slow with exercise -- walking is always good (but wait until your PS says O.K.). When you're up for a little more challenge ... Leslie Sansone is great, I have some of her walk-away the pounds the most important step!
We hope to hear from you often. Browse through some of the postings, and think about choosing a 'team' to join.
