Can anyone help/stop me worrying!

Question
I have been trying to concieve for 5 years now and was diagnoised with PCSO last year. I was given a course of metformin (which i am still taking) and told i would need another blood test in 6 months time. The blood test showed the PCSO was under control and I should conceive. 12 months later and still not pregnant and I was told i would need a HYCOSY.

I went for the HYCOSY (Hysterosalpingo-Contrast Sonography) yesterday where the doctor looks at the Uterus, Ovaries and fallopian tubes using ultrasound scan. I suspect its similiar to a HSG (which I have seen comments on this board about)

It was the worst kind of pain i have ever experienced... I was told that my tubes were not blocked but they found a cyst in my womb which needed further investigation as this could be the cause of my infertility.

I was told the procedure would be similar to the above and probably just as painful....(that was the last thing i wanted to hear!!)

Has anyone else experienced the same or anything similar, if so, what happens next, was it really painful and what are the chances of the cyst not being anything serious?

I too have been trying to convieve for almost 5 yrs (5 in Sept). I recently had a SHG done because we were preparing to do IVF (male issues) and they found a polyp in my uterus. Mine was removed through surgery, however I was put under so I felt no pain. I rested that evening in a hotel room (RE's office is 2.5 hrs away) and went to work the next day. After that I was left on birth control for 2 months so my uterus could completely heal and my cervix could go back to size. They sent the polyp to be tested and everything came back fine. I was told this polyp could have been contributing to our infertility. The way it was explained to me was that the cells around the polyp become protective and if an embryo would try to implant itself the cells would treat it as an outsider and attack it. It made sense to me. I have had several failed IUIs and at least one of them I was sure had worked. I had implantation bleeding, got dizzy spells, sick and lots of other symptoms...yet it didn't stick. Anyway, I know everyone is different...but I wanted to share my story. Good luck to you.
