Question
Hello everyone, I'm new to this site....thought I'd see if I could find anyone else with a similar story.
I had leukemia when I was 14, I was in remission for 4 years, had my daughter when I was 18, but was re-diagnosed with leukemia when I was 7 months pregnant....daughter was born healthy and is now 9 years old.
After I had a bone marrow transplant the chemotherapy caused me to go into menopaus early so I can't have anymore children unless I try IVF with donated eggs. I live in British Columbia Canada and there is no coverage for this. Also I am now 27 years old. I would love to hear about any information regarding this and/or anyone elses story...

Well, I can't give you that much info except that I went through IVF and am now going through my 3rd try. If you want specifics, ask away! I have heard of women getting donated eggs. You'll have to check things out at your local RE's office. I'm not sure about the financial aspect of it however, especially if you're paying out of pocket.

But I also wanted to say that you sound like you've been through A LOT!! And that makes you an incredibly strong women! I wish you lots of luck and congratulations on your daughter (a true miracle) and your transplant (which I'm sure was tough to go through). Keep us posted, this is a great site with very supportive women.

Thank you both so much for your support, it means a lot! Regardless of what happens I am very fortunate to be healthy now and have my healthy 9 year old daughter. The 15th of this month will be my 9 year anniversary since my BMT...tons to be thankful for. Thanks again and I will keep coming back here.
