Question
Hi! I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying the neutrogena microdermabrasion kit or just go straight to a doctor. I have a sunspot on both sides of my face and mild sun damage on my cheeks under my eyes. I am only 26, so I am very self concious about it but would like to spend the least amount of money possible. I think it will cost around $900 to have professional microdermabrasion done. Does the at home neutrogena one work? Thanks!
Answer
It won't get rid of them but it does help. I use Ponds version and I also tried the chemical peel.
I would go with a fading cream. There is a thread on here with some recomendations of a few that work.
I tried the Olay Regenerist Tone Enhancer and it worked but not that great.
I just ordered a cream from Avon that is suppose to work real well.
I used Triluma (exspensive script) and it worked BUT they come back.
Also make sure you are using sun screen that is crucial.
Answer
I tried Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade cream last year for 2 months and saw some improvement of sunspots fading, then a co-worker told me about Triluma she used it and said that it would get the results I wanted quicker. I used Triluma for 4 months and saw no changes in sunspot fading, just major sunburn on my face (everyones skin will react differently) I went back to Palmer's a few weeks after finishing up my tube of Triluma and I'm seeing results and saving $80.
Triluma - 4% Hydroquinone (applied once a day)
Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade cream - 2% Hydroquinone (can be applied twice daily) with vitamins C&E, Alpha Hydroxy and Sunscreen
Answer
I just got Avon's Banishing Cream it's 2% hydroquine. It was like five bucks for a huge jar!
I used Triluma and it worked BUT they came back. I couldn't keep buying it for that price. I also tried the Olay regenerist tone and saw NOTHING.
Answer
Might be cheap but it doesn't work at all I've tried it,.
